The Book of Hebrews Chapter 3 NIV

In the third Book of Mark, the writer draws parallels between our Lord and Savior, JESUS the CHRIST and the prophet Moses whom GOD used to liberate the children of Israel from bondage in Egypt, and who received the Ten Commandments from GOD. Verse 3 states without any ambiguity, “JESUS has been found worthy of greater honor than Moses, just as the builder of a house has greater honor than the house itself.” Verses 5a and 6a reiterate “Moses was faithful as a servant in all GOD’s house (v5a), “But CHRIST is faithful as the Son over GOD’s house (v6a). As children of GOD, we are GOD’s house if indeed we put all our trust and hope in HIM (v6b).

Hebrews 3 makes a strong reference to the disobedience and foolhardiness of the children of Israel as they traveled home to Canaan. We are advised to learn from the intransigence of the Israelites (v7-11); we are counseled to eschew sin and unbelief in our walk with GOD, and to encourage each other, Today, in the here and now (v12-13); for we shall not enter HIS rest if we disobey and do not believe (v18-19).
