The Book of Hebrews Chapter 9

Hebrews 9:1-5 leads one by the hand into the earthly sanctuary; it provides a scant outline of the architecture of the earthly tabernacle. The “Holy Place” is where the lampstand with its consecrated bread is set up. The “Most Holy Place” has; a) the golden altar of incense and gold covered ark of the covenant, b) gold jar of manna, c) Aaron’s staff that had budded, e) the stone tablets of the covenant, and f) the cherubim of glory (v2-5).

Unlike earthly high priests before HIM, our Lord JESUS “entered the ‘Most High Place’ once and for all by HIS own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption (v12).”

For CHRIST is “the mediator of a new covenant (v15)” and “has appeared once for all at the culmination of the ages to do away with the sin by the sacrifice of HIMSELF (v26).”

In summary, The Book of Hebrews Chapter 9 validates, superimposes, and attempts to lay bare CHRIST’s duties as High Priest. May the name of our Lord be praised forever and ever!
