The Earthly Tabernacle vs The Heavenly Temple

The Book of Hebrews Chapter 9

Hebrews 9:1-5 leads one by the hand into the earthly sanctuary; it provides a scant outline of the architecture of the earthly tabernacle. The โ€œHoly Placeโ€ is where the lampstand with its consecrated bread is set up. The โ€œMost Holy Placeโ€ has; a) the golden altar of incense and gold covered ark of the covenant, b) gold jar of manna, c) Aaronโ€™s staff that had budded, e) the stone tablets of the covenant, and f) the cherubim of glory (v2-5).

Unlike earthly high priests before HIM, our Lord JESUS โ€œentered the โ€˜Most High Placeโ€™ once and for all by HIS own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption (v12).โ€

For CHRIST is โ€œthe mediator of a new covenant (v15)โ€ and โ€œhas appeared once for all at the culmination of the ages to do away with the sin by the sacrifice of HIMSELF (v26).โ€

In summary, The Book of Hebrews Chapter 9 validates, superimposes, and attempts to lay bare CHRISTโ€™s duties as High Priest. May the name of our Lord be praised forever and ever!

What is the Tabernacle?
