Day One: Monday, January 6, 2025

The Book of Hebrews

The writer of the Book of Hebrews does not identify himself. Early church leaders speculate that it could be Paul, Barnabas and Apollos. However, there is insufficient evidence to support this assertion. There appears to be enough evidence to show that it is more than likely the writing of a second-generation Christian well versed in the Old Testament. Perhaps a Jew, probably a friend of Timothy who belonged to Apostle Paul’s circle of friends (F&W Bible, pg. 1500).*

Chapter 1

The Book of Hebrew Chapter 1 introduces or shall I say announces our Lord and Savior, JESUS the CHRIST – Son of GOD, Heir of all things, through whom GOD made the Universe, the Radiance of GOD’s glory, the exact replication of HIS being (GOD) (v1-3); whose throne will last for ever and ever, anointed with the oil of joy (v8-9); who remains the same and HIS years never ends, who sits at the right hand of GOD until GOD makes HIS enemies a footstool for HIS feet (v12-13).

Day Two: Tuesday, January 07, 2025

The Book of Hebrews Chapter 2

The second Book of Hebrews records the humanity of JESUS and the profound love GOD has for us, mankind:

“6 What is mankind that YOU are mindful of them, a son of man that YOU care for him? 7 YOU made them a little lower than the angels; YOU crowned them with glory and honor and put everything under their feet.” Our Lord is not ashamed to call us HIS brothers and sisters (v11-12). JESUS shares in our humanity and through HIS death broke the power of death. HE is a merciful and faithful high priest who atones for our sins (v14-17).
